Panama hats had become very popular in Taiwan (Taichung). Marketing the fact that these handcrafted items could not be mass-produced, Boho Sai (grandfather of the current President Hiromasa Sai) created a Limited Partnership Company and had started their business on Qingshui Street with his brothers.

1915
Boho Sai (the founder) established Senkori Shoko Co., Ltd. at the current headquarters in Chuo-ku, Kobe, as a sales base for Panama hats in Japan.
After that, the quality of Taiwanese Panama hats improved due to strict quality control in accordance with the policy of the Governor-General of Taiwan. As a result, sales in Japan increased significantly.

Operations temporarily suspended due to the War.

The friendship between the last President of Kawasaki Heavy Industries before the war, Shousuke Tsutaya and Shigekazu Sai (father of the current President Hiromasa Sai) was the start of the relationship between both companies.

The company resumed operations under the name of The China & Japan Marine Industries Co., Ltd.
Shigekazu Sai became President and simultaneosly commenced the sale of marine paints manufactured by China Paint Co., Ltd. and Kansai Paint Co., Ltd.

After the war, Kawasaki Heavy Industries became the first foreign shipowner in Hong Kong. John Manners & Co., Ltd. commissioned three new ships.

Expansion of sales of engines manufactured by Yanmar Diesel Co., Ltd. (now Yanmar Co., Ltd.) and propellers manufactured by Nakashima Propeller Co., Ltd. to Southeast Asia (Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, etc.) through the trading division of John Manners & Co., Ltd.

The company was divided into two companies, The China & Japan Marine Industries Co., Ltd. and The Chunichi Kosan Co., Ltd.
Opened Sakaide Sales Office in Kagawa Prefecture. (Currently the Shikoku Branch)

The Chuko building was built at the current head office location of The China & Japan Industries Building.

Hiromasa Sai becomes President.

Commenced exporting marine equipment and other related products to Chinese shipyards.

In order to increase the operational efficiency of the Sakaide branch (currently known as the Shikoku branch), the office was moved from Sakaide city to Utazu-cho (Utazu station square).

The overseas subsidiary Senkori Co., Ltd. (Dalian, China) is established.

A new company building was completed through a joint venture with Yasuda Real Estate Co., Ltd.
