About Hasytec

• Hasytec is a manufacturer of ultrasonic anti fouling devices founded in Kiel, Germany in 2016.
• Their “AI-controlled ultrasonic anti-fouling device (Dynamic Biofilm Protection Intelligent: DBPi)” is being used in ships and land-based plants.
• In 2020, they received the German Innovation Award, and in 2022, they were nominated for the German Environmental Award.

DBPi’s Features

• Dynamic Biofilm Protection Intelligent® (DBPi®) inhibits the formation of biofilm on surfaces making contact with liquids, preventing marine organism attachment and contamination.
• Areas of application on vessels include propellers, thrusters, sea chests, seawater systems, heat exchangers, etc.
• DBPi should be installed and applied before the formation of biofilm.
• The only maintenance required is for the replacement of a button type battery in the control panel (every 5 years); besides that, it is maintenance-free.
• The system has also received type approval from Lloyd’s Register.

DBPi’s Merits

• Reduced equipment maintenance, extended equipment lifespan.
• In the case of propeller application: Improved fuel efficiency and environmental assessment (CII rating) due to enhanced propulsion efficiency.
• In the case of sea chest application: Substitute for MGPU.
• Compared to other anti-fouling measures such as chemicals, electrolysis, antifouling coatings, etc., it is environmentally friendly.

• The main components consist of a transducer and a modular control unit.
• One transducer covers approximately 10m&sup3 / 30m&sup2.
• Frequency: 20-60kHz.
• Power consumption (with 8 units installed): 0.442 kW/h.
• Maximum current: 230V = 2.9A / 667W, 115V = 5.8A / 667W.
